Chemical Peels

Chemical peels at Doyle Skin use professional, medical-grade solutions from Clinicare, Neostrata and Fillmed to gently dissolve the build-up of dead skin cells on the surface. This helps to soften fine lines, improve texture, reduce the appearance of pigmentation and give your skin a clearer, more luminous look.

What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a controlled exfoliating treatment that uses carefully selected acids to loosen and remove dull, compacted skin cells. Unlike harsh, one-size-fits-all peels, the solutions used at Doyle Skin are chosen and adjusted to suit your skin type, concerns and tolerance.

We work with respected brands CLINICARE, NEOSTRATA and FILLMED, which offer a range of strengths and ingredient combinations. This allows us to treat different concerns while keeping your skin’s safety and comfort at the centre of every decision.

Why Choose a Professional Peel?

Helps skin feel softer and more refined.

Encourages a fresher, more even tone.

Can reduce the look of congestion and surface blemishes.

Fresher skin can absorb homecare more effectively.

What to Expect from Your Peel

  • Consultation & Skin Assessment We begin by discussing your skin history, lifestyle and any previous procedures, then examine your skin closely. This helps us select the most suitable peel and prepare a realistic, safe plan – which may involve a single treatment or a course.
  • Preparation The skin is cleansed and, where needed, prepped with specific solutions to ensure even penetration. Sensitive areas such as the corners of the nose or lips are protected.
  • Peel Application The chosen chemical peel is applied in a thin, even layer. You may feel warmth, tingling or a mild prickling sensation; this usually settles after a few minutes and is carefully monitored at all times.
  • Neutralising & Removal After the appropriate time, the peel is neutralised or removed. Soothing products are then applied to comfort the skin and support the barrier.
  • Finishing & Aftercare Advice We finish with hydrating products and SPF. You’ll leave with clear aftercare instructions, including what to avoid and how to look after your skin as it renews.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not always. Some lighter peels create more of a “micro-peel” that isn’t dramatically visible, while stronger options can lead to more obvious flaking. The level of visible peeling depends on the peel used and your skin type, and will be discussed beforehand.

You may feel warmth, tingling or stinging while the peel is on, but this is monitored constantly and should remain within a tolerable level. Any strong discomfort would be addressed immediately.

Many people notice a brighter, smoother look within a week. For pigmentation and deeper concerns, best results usually come after a course of treatments combined with a sensible homecare routine.

Light, non-comedogenic make-up can often be worn from the next day, but we’ll give specific guidance depending on the peel and your skin.

Yes – peels are often combined with LED Light Therapy or planned alongside microneedling and other treatments as part of a wider skin programme. Your plan will be tailored for safety and effectiveness.
