LED Light Therapy

LED Light Therapy at Doyle Skin is a relaxing treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to support the skin’s natural processes. It can be used on its own or alongside other treatments to help reduce the appearance of redness, support healing and give the complexion a healthier, more balanced look.

A Soothing Boost for Stressed or Sensitive Skin

Modern life can leave skin feeling easily irritated – whether from breakouts, sensitivity, hormonal changes or other aesthetic procedures. LED Light Therapy offers a gentle way to help restore calm.

Different light wavelengths are selected to target specific concerns, such as visible redness, mild breakouts or a dull, tired complexion. The treatment is painless, has no downtime and is suitable for most skin types and tones, making it an ideal add-on or maintenance option between more intensive procedures.

What Happens During an LED Session?

We begin with a short consultation to understand your skin, current routine and any recent treatments. This ensures LED is appropriate for you and helps us choose the correct light settings.

Your skin will be cleansed to remove make-up, SPF and surface oils. Protective eyewear is provided for comfort and safety.

You’ll relax under the LED canopy or panel for a set period, usually around 15–20 minutes. The light feels warm but not hot, and most clients find the experience deeply calming.

After your session, suitable finishing products are applied. You’ll leave with simple homecare guidance, especially if LED has followed another treatment such as a peel or microneedling.

Is LED Light Therapy Right for Me?

LED Light Therapy is suitable for most skin types and tones, including more sensitive skins. It may not be appropriate if you:

  • Are taking certain medications that cause light sensitivity
  • Have a history of light-triggered seizures
  • Have active skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area

These points, and any others relevant to your health, will be discussed during your consultation to ensure treatment is safe for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. LED is non-invasive and should not be painful. Most clients find the warmth and light very soothing.

This depends on your goals. A single session is great before an event or as a skin “pick-me-up”. For more ongoing concerns, a course of treatments may be recommended.

Yes – LED is often paired with microneedling, peels or microdermabrasion at Doyle Skin. It’s a supportive add-on that can help the skin feel calmer and more comfortable afterwards.

We usually advise keeping your routine gentle for the rest of the day and continuing with your normal SPF. If LED follows a more intensive procedure, you’ll be given specific aftercare to follow.
